There are some pictures of the villa for those who haven't seen it. The first picture is the view of the mountains from our house. The girl in the living room picture is our villa-mate Nicole. I think the rest are self-explanatory.
Today was an early day. By 10am I had already done a lot of stuff. Eric and I woke up around 6:30am because when the sunlight starts coming in and the animals start to make noise, you get up. We have to keep our windows open to catch the breeze b/c we have no a/c. After eating eggs (juevos) and some bread (pain) with coffee (cafe), we walked into town. I walked with Eric and Nicole to school as they were stopping by the bank first and I wanted to walk around town a bit and pick up a few things. Eric and I brought a set of walkie talkies we got as a wedding present and tried them out when he got to school and I was in town. They are worked well! I walked around town for a bit trying to see where certain stores were. I stopped by the market and picked up some sliced bread so that Eric and Nicole can make lunch for class. Used a small bit of Spanish today, mostly saying "hola" and "buenos dias" to random people in the street. After getting home, I uploaded some pictures that I took today (which I will post in a separate blog) and updated my resume. I also made a flyer which I plan to pass out to hotels/resorts/businesses advertising that I am certified to teach CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You never know. Eric and Nicole are getting out of school early today, so I'm meeting them around 2pm to go to the beach in Manuel Antonio. Steve (our landlord) is giving me a ride so I can take Eric's surfboard to him. Right now I am cooking some black beans that we soaked yesterday. I have never cooked beans that way, so I hope I'm doing it right. We will probably keep rice and beans on tap for snacks or side dishes. I will probably have more to write later tonight or tomorrow after the beach trip today. Maybe we will walk around Manuel Antonio and I can get some pics of that up.
