La Playa Manuel Antonio

The canopy you park under at the beach.
Sunset. I caught a helicopter as it was passing in front of the sun.
 Eric in the water.
 Surfboard rental.
Sunset. That island is called "Elephant Rock" because the left side looks like the rear and the right side looks like the front with little trees for hair.

So, yesterday after Eric and Nicole got out of class (around 2pm), Steve, his friend Karen (from Holland... reminds me SO much of Sarah Jessica Parker), and I picked them up and we all went to the beach in Manuel Antonio. When we got there, Eric and Nicole saw some girls with their class and went to get a spot on the beach. I went with Steve and Karen to find Karen's friend Analoo and grab some beer (las cervesas). I hung out with them for a bit and then went to find Eric and Nicole. Eric was out surfing and he caught a few waves but the swell wasn't too good and the waves were small. I got in the water even though I am not supposed to with me new tattoo. It is just SO hot! I was miserable sitting there while everyone else was in. It has pretty much healed up anyway.
The beach is very beautiful, and when you first come in you walk under a canopy of vines and leaves. If you get there around 3pm it seems to be a good time as it is only hot until around 4:30pm and then it cools off quite a bit because the sun sets around 5:30/5:45pm. The sunsets are beautiful. It would be hard to take a bad picture of that. While sitting on the beach, you will get approached by many different venders. Some are selling pottery, some selling fresh fruit & cold drinks.
While Eric was surfing, he said he let a tico (a male Costa Rican) borrow his board for a few rides and that he was very impressed. Must be a really nice board.
Many of Eric and Nicole's other classmates showed up while we were sitting there. By the time we left, we had made plans to meet them out at a place that was supposedly giving free salsa lessons.
Once we got home and showered up, we made an awesome dinner of tuna, red snapper, and rice/beans. Steve still had fish left from when his girlfriend, Christina the charter boat captain, gave him some the other day. It was muy bueno!!!
We walked into town around 8:30pm and found the spot. Unfortunately, they were not giving salsa lessons that night. They do it on Friday night. We saw some people from the school there, so we had a drink with them. Eric was thankful to know where that place was though, b/c it is an American bar that plays American football! They also have all American food if we ever crave fries or something.
By the time we got back to the house it was almost 10:30pm. We were all tired and went to bed immediately. Got to get enough sleep before the animals wake up...
